Writers Read has been happening in Ukiah since 1999, and occurs on the last Thursday of almost every month. The program focuses on poetry, spoken word, short stories, song, and expository prose. For August, the evening’s featured readers will be four accomplished poets from the Mendocino Coast: Mike Edwards, Joe Smith, Tia Ballentine, and Larry Felson. They will then be followed by an hour of open mic starting around 8:00.

Please note, the August program is occurring on the fourth Thursday of the month so as not to bump up against the long Labor Day weekend.
