Writers Read: Ukiah's Literary Salon

  • Grace Hudson Museum & Sun House 431 South Main Street Ukiah, CA 95482 USA (map)

The November Writers Read will occur a week early so as not to conflict with Thanksgiving. This month’s featured reader is David Eugene Partch, a singer-songwriter-poet from Willits. David has been featured at several venues in the Bay Area, as well as Mendocino County. He studied Anthropology at UC Berkeley, and then Philosophy at UC Santa Barbara before traveling to Germany in 1971, where he lived for 14 years and completed a dissertation on Kant’s ethics. Returning to California, David had career in computers. In retirement he learned about permaculture and rediscovered poetry. He has published three books of poetry which can be found on Amazon.

Writers Read has been happening in Ukiah since 1999, and occurs on the last Thursday of almost every month. The program focuses on poetry, spoken word, short stories, song, and expository prose. The evening typically begins with a featured reader and then is followed by an hour of open mic starting around 8:00.

There is no fee, but donations are warmly appreciated.
