Writers Read: Ukiah's Literary Salon

  • Grace Hudson Museum & Sun House 431 South Main Street Ukiah, CA 95482 USA (map)

The featured reader for June will be Anika Snyder.  Born and raised in Ukiah, Anika is the author of Syllable Soccer, a book she hopes will bring awareness to the intricacies of life as a Bipolar poet.  It has taken root in small town communities and connected those disenfranchised, misunderstood, mistreated, and at times, misdiagnosed.  Through humor and self-reflection, her writing seeks to let her readers know that they are not alone through struggle.  A second book of her poetry is soon to released.

Writers Read has been happening in Ukiah since 1999, and occurs on the last Thursday of almost every month. The program focuses on poetry, spoken word, short stories, song, and expository prose. The evening begins with a featured reader and then is followed by an hour of open mic starting around 8:00.

There is no fee, but donations are warmly appreciated.

Please note, Writers Read will be on hiatus in July, returning to the Museum on Thursday, August 27.
