CELEBRATING LOOK AGAIN: PORTRAITS OF DARING WOMEN
Spend a part of your May First Friday Art Walk at the Grace Hudson Museum, where we’ll have a celebratory reception for our latest exhibition, Look Again: Portraits of Daring Women. This traveling exhibition features woodblock and collage prints by Julie Lapping Rivera that focus on significant women, many of whom were underappreciated in their time. For the Grace Hudson Museum presentation, the show also includes 15 or so Mendocino County artists who have created artwork depicting women who were family members, friends, mentors, or otherwise inspirational. Our musical guest will long-time Mendo County favorites Redbud, bringing high their energy music to the party — some of you will be dancing.
You’ll also be able to spend time discovering or getting reacquainted with our core galleries, featuring Grace Hudson’s artwork, exquisite Pomo basketry, and Carpenter-Hudson family history. Also enjoy an evening walk in our Wild Gardens as many spring flowers will still be in bloom. Refreshments will be available.
First Fridays at the Grace Hudson Museum are always free all day and evening.
